At the boutique, we carry treasures that tell a story—and these satin theater shoes are no exception. Made for The Wax Apple by the legendary Mr. Lee, each pair holds the weight of tradition and the quiet confidence of craftsmanship perfected over 40 years.

Mr. Lee learned his trade from the master shoemaker who once crafted shoes for Madame Chiang Kai-shek, and to this day, he continues the work from his small workshop in Tainan. He’s never sought to scale, never rushed to grow—only to refine. With soft satin, a durable rubber sole, and a silhouette that nods to performance and elegance, these shoes remind me that doing one thing exceptionally well is its own kind of art.
