Christine Alcalay invites you to her design studio to join expert crafter, Erika Munro for a special series of workshops focused on the timeless art of mending. Together, let's create, learn and contribute to a meaningful cause.
Bring one article of clothing you want to mend. No experience necessary.
This event is a fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles to aid in rebuilding homes for those devastated by the fires.

STUDIO 2: MENDING & VISIBLE HAND-SEWING
Discover creative ways to repair garments with visible mending techniques that your make your clothes even more special. Bring a piece you'd like to mend or work with materials provided. Bring one article of clothing. No experience necessary.
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
STUDIO 3: BLIND HEMS
Master the art of sewing clean, invisible hems that add a professional touch to your projects. Learn the technique step-by-step with guided practice. Bring one article of clothing. No experience necessary.
4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
STUDIO 4: PATCHES
Learn to sew decorative or functional patches to repair or customize your clothing. Experiment with different shapes, textures and styles to add personality to your pieces. Bring one article of clothing. No experience.
