Return Policy

Returns & Exchanges

Every Christine Alcalay piece is made in small batches in New York City and numbered by hand. We want it to feel right when it arrives. If it doesn't, here's how we'll take care of you.


You have 14 days from the day your order is received to start a return or exchange. To be accepted, pieces must come back to us:

- Unworn, unwashed, and undamaged
- With all original tags and the maker's label attached
- In their original packaging

Anything returned worn, altered, washed, or without tags will be sent back to you and won't be refunded.

 How to start a return

All returns and exchanges are handled through our self-serve return portal. Visit the Redo return portal link, enter your order number and email, and follow the steps.

Once we receive and inspect your return, your refund is issued to your original payment method. Refunds typically post within 5 to 7 business days,  though your bank may take a few extra days to show it.

 Refunds and exchanges

- Full refund  to your original payment method on eligible ready-to-ship pieces returned within 14 days of receipt.
- Exchanges and store credit are also available through the portal.

Original shipping charges are not refundable.

Return shipping

- Covered if you added Redo Return Coverage at checkout. Your return label is free.
- Customer paid if you didn't add coverage. You're responsible for purchasing and arranging your own return shipping label. We recommend a trackable method, since we can't issue a refund for a return we don't receive.

Preorder

Preorder lets you reserve a piece before it's made. Once your preorder arrives, it's eligible for return or exchange under the same terms as the rest of this policy: you have 14 days from the day it's received, and it must come back unworn, unwashed, and with all tags and the maker's label attached.

If you'd like to cancel a preorder before it ships, reach out and we'll take care of it and if you're unsure about sizing, ask us first. We're glad to help.

Made to order and final sale

The following are final sale and can't be returned or exchanged:

-Made-to-order and custom pieces, produced specifically for you
- Sale and markdown items
- Cosmetics
- Undergarments and hosiery
- Fine jewelry
- Gift cards
- Any piece marked final sale at the time of purchase

Cosmetics, undergarments, and hosiery are final sale for hygiene reasons. Fine jewelry is final sale given its value.

 Damaged, defective, or wrong items

If something arrives damaged, defective, or we've sent the wrong piece, that's on us. Start a return through the portal within 48 hours of receipt and choose the damaged or defective reason, or email us at [your returns email] with a photo and your order number. We'll make it right with a full refund or replacement and cover all shipping.

Right of Withdrawal

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to withdraw from many contracts within 14 days of receiving your order, without providing any reason.

Please note that under Article 14(1) of Directive 2011/83/EU, customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. A prepaid label will be provided through our withdrawal portal; the label cost will be deducted from your refund.

We will issue your refund within fourteen (14) days of receiving notification of your cancellation, or, if later, once we have received the returned goods or you have provided proof that the goods have been shipped back to us.

This right applies to all items purchased through our store, with certain exceptions such as digital products, perishable goods, sealed personal hygiene products, and personalized items, as set forth in Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU.
