A New Chapter: Footwear Designed with Intention
Christine Alcalay expands into footwear with the launch of her debut shoe collection — a natural evolution of her independent luxury brand known for tailored womenswear and refined silhouettes. Designed in New York and handcrafted in Peru, the collection features two timeless styles: the Lucille slingback block heel (Maraschino Cherry & Vanilla White) and the Masha (Shell & Sky) open-back mule.
Footwear Thoughtfully Made in Peru
Christine was first introduced to a family-run factory in Lima during a trip to Peru. “I was struck by their precision and integrity,” she says. “The quality was remarkable — and the relationship felt right. That’s always where I begin.”
What followed was a year-long collaboration, working closely with Peruvian artisans to refine every detail — from the pitch of the heel to the tension of each braid, resulting in the 3" block heels.
Dress Shoes Designed for Elegance and Ease
“When designing these shoes, I thought about what I actually wear,” Christine notes. “The pairs I slip into daily, that work with everything but never feel like an afterthought.”
The Lucille, a braided leather slingback, is offered in cream and red. The Masha mule comes in shell and powder blue. Every colorway was selected to complement the current collection and archival pieces — making them seamless additions to an existing wardrobe.
